Texora Painting handles all drywall repairs as part of our standard process, and also offers drywall repair as a standalone service for homeowners who just need walls prepped before they tackle painting themselves.
We repair everything from small nail holes and picture-hanging damage to large holes from plumbing or electrical work, water-damaged sections, cracked drywall tape, and failing texture. Our goal is always the same: a seamless repair you can't find after painting. We serve Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Delta, Tsawwassen, Ladner, North Vancouver, Surrey, and Richmond.
Many contractors rush drywall repair — thin coats, inadequate feathering, skipping primer. The result shows through paint, especially in raking light. We apply multiple thin coats, sand between each, feather edges wide to blend with surrounding texture, and prime before painting. The difference is visible.
Nail holes, screw pops, anchor damage, and small punctures are filled with setting compound, sanded smooth, and spot-primed. On textured walls, we re-apply matching texture before the area is indistinguishable from the surrounding wall.
Holes from plumbing, electrical, or accidental damage require backing, a drywall patch, mesh tape, and multiple coats of compound feathered well beyond the repair area. We've patched everything from doorknob-sized holes to full wall sections.
Water-damaged drywall often needs partial or full replacement before mud and paint. We assess whether the section needs to be cut out and re-sheeted, or if it can be treated, sealed with stain-blocking primer, and re-mudded in place.
Stress cracks along corners, tape joints, and ceiling-wall junctions are common in older homes and those that have settled. We cut out failing tape, apply new tape and compound, feather and sand, and prime — eliminating the crack rather than just painting over it.
We inspect the walls to identify all areas that need repair — including hidden damage you might have missed — and give you a clear scope and cost.
Floors and furnishings are protected. We score damaged areas cleanly before any repair material goes on.
Appropriate backing, mesh, or setting compound is applied as the first coat depending on damage type and size.
We apply 2–3 thin coats of compound, feathering each coat progressively wider to blend seamlessly with surrounding drywall.
Between every coat and after the final coat, surfaces are sanded to achieve a smooth, invisible transition.
Where walls have a knockdown, orange peel, or stipple texture, we re-apply matching texture using the same technique as the original.
All repaired areas are primed and ready for paint. If painting is part of the scope, we proceed directly into paint application.
Small repairs (nail holes, minor cracks) typically run $100–$300. Medium patches (1–6 inch holes) range from $200–$600. Large repairs or water-damaged sections can run $500–$1,500+ depending on extent. We provide free quotes with clear pricing before any work begins.
Yes — texture matching is a core part of our repair process. We match knockdown, orange peel, smooth, and stipple textures. For complex or unusual textures, we'll test a sample area before committing to the full repair.
Joint compound (mud) needs to dry fully between each coat — typically 24 hours per coat under normal conditions. Faster-setting compounds cure chemically in 20–90 minutes but still need light sanding. We allow full cure time before priming to prevent shrinkage and cracking under paint.
No — we handle both. Texora Painting includes drywall repair as part of every interior paint job. You don't need to hire a drywaller separately; we assess and repair what's needed, then paint.
Yes — but the source of the moisture must be fixed first. We can replace damaged sections, treat for mould if present (in minor cases), apply stain-blocking primer, and skim coat back to a seamless finish.
Not with our process. Rushed repairs show because the patch isn't feathered wide enough or has inadequate coats. We take the time to feather edges well beyond the repair, apply multiple coats, and always prime — resulting in a seamless finish even in raking light.
