Painting and Drywall FAQ for Delta Homeowners

Questions about painting, cabinets, drywall, the warranty and BBB accreditation, answered with the same wording used on our service pages, the warranty page and the home page.

There are 17 answers here, grouped by type of job, and each one names the page it comes from. One of the two partners behind Texora Painting & Drywall walks every job with you and writes the estimate, so bring anything not covered here to that walkthrough, or call (604) 417-6483 or email info@texorapainting.com.

Quotes, warranty and accreditation

Your written estimate names the warranty term for your job, and the full terms are on the warranty page. Our Quality Business Awards 2026 win and our BBB accreditation are both on the awards page. Our warranty is designed to protect against premature failure directly caused by the work performed by Texora Painting. It is not a warranty against every condition that may affect a home or building after the project is completed. If you believe there may be a workmanship-related issue during your warranty period, contact Texora Painting before having another contractor repair or alter the affected area. Jenny's August 2026 review says the crew "Came back for minor touch ups when asked without issue." We have been BBB Accredited since 29 September 2026 and hold an A- rating. Vicki Harford wrote in June 2026: "I had a small job which was quite high up and planning to do it myself, But Texora Was right there and it was done very quickly and very efficiently. Nice careful job thank you."

How much does it cost to paint a house in Delta, BC?

We price every job from a walkthrough, so the number depends on the rooms or walls, the prep they need and the paint line. One of the two partners walks the job with you, and the written estimate lists the scope, the paint and your 1, 2 or 3-year warranty term. Call (604) 417-6483 or use the free quote form to book the walkthrough.

Interior painting

Interior painting goes ahead year-round. Tsawwassen, Ladner, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody each have their own interior page: Tsawwassen, Ladner, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody. We can bring colour decks, work from your inspiration photos, or walk through the home with you and suggest palettes.

Do I need to move furniture before an interior paint job in Delta, BC?

Move small items and valuables. Our crew shifts the large furniture in your Delta home to the centre of the room and covers it, so you don't need to strip the room bare.

What paint brands does Texora use on interiors in Delta, BC?

We work with Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams and Dulux premium lines on interior jobs across Delta. We can also apply paints you've already purchased.

Can we stay in the home during a full repaint in Delta, BC?

Most clients stay home during interior repaints. We work room by room where possible to minimize disruption, ensure adequate ventilation, and use low-VOC paints that are safe for families and pets. We'll discuss your schedule and preferences during the quote visit.

Can you paint just the trim without the walls in Delta, BC?

Yes. We can refresh yellowed or chipped trim, update the colour, or apply a different sheen without touching the walls.

Exterior painting

Our crews paint wood siding, Hardie board, stucco, vinyl siding and cedar, and the exterior gets scheduled around the weather. More on the exterior painting page. We quote interior and exterior together, often before a sale or a renovation, and schedule the exterior around the weather. Strata repaints run building by building, with notice posted to residents before we reach their unit. We provide a written proposal your council can approve, give you one point of contact, and keep the council or manager updated throughout the project. In warehouses, overhead spraying uses dry-fall coatings that dry to a powder before they land. We work zone-by-zone so racking, equipment and staff keep moving.

What time of year is best to paint a house in Tsawwassen or Ladner?

Exterior work runs from late spring to early fall, roughly May to September, when temperatures stay above 10°C and rain is less frequent. We don't paint outside in rain or when frost is expected, because the coating will not bond properly. Interior painting goes ahead year-round.

Will you move patio furniture and planters at my Delta, BC home?

Yes, we move and protect everything near the exterior work areas. We ask that you move any very heavy or fragile items, but everyday patio furniture, potted plants, and outdoor items we handle ourselves.

Can you paint just one side of my house in Delta, BC?

Yes. Many homeowners paint just the street-facing side, a single section of damaged siding, or one elevation at a time. We provide quotes for whatever scope you need.

Cabinet painting

We take the doors off, spray them and put them back, which is how the finish comes out without brush marks. Details on the cabinet painting page.

Will painted cabinets chip or peel in a Delta, BC kitchen?

Not if the prep is right. Cabinet paint usually fails because degreasing, sanding or the right primer got skipped, and we do all three before a hard-wearing cabinet topcoat.

What colours can I choose for cabinets painted in Delta, BC?

Any colour. We work with Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams, and Dulux colour systems.

Popular choices include classic white (Chantilly Lace, Simply White), warm whites, navy, sage green, greige, and charcoal. We can also match existing colours or custom shades.

Can you paint laminate or melamine cabinets in Delta, BC?

Yes. With the right prep and adhesion primer we paint laminate, melamine and thermofoil cabinet surfaces, and we check your cabinet material at the quote visit.

Drywall repair

You don't need to hire a drywaller separately. We match knockdown, orange peel, smooth and stipple textures (see texture matching), then paint the repair.

Can you repair water-damaged drywall in Delta, BC?

Yes, but the source of the moisture must be fixed first. We can replace damaged sections, treat for mould if present (in minor cases), apply stain-blocking primer, and skim coat back to a finish with no visible seam.

Will a drywall repair in my Delta, BC home show after painting?

Not with our process. We feather the edges well beyond the repair, apply multiple coats and always prime, so the patch doesn't show even in raking light.

Wood repair, heritage homes and brick

Where lead-based coatings are a factor on an older home, we follow lead-safe work practices before disturbing existing paint (heritage house restoration). Brick colour gets tested on your actual brick first (staining for brick). For major structural or framing work we'll point you to the right trade, but small rot and trim repair is squarely what we do, including preserving dentil work, brackets, mouldings and profile trim.

Do you replace rotten fascia boards in Delta, BC?

Yes. We remove the affected boards, install new wood, then prime and paint to match the rest of your home's trim. It's often done alongside an exterior repaint.

From: Wood rot repair

Is wood rot repaired before painting on a Delta, BC house?

Almost always. Painting over rotten or soft wood just hides the problem. We fix the wood first (replace, fill, sand, and prime) so the finish lasts and the repair is invisible once painted.

Is brick staining better than painting brick in Delta, BC?

For most homes, yes: stain soaks in and stays breathable, keeps the brick's texture, and won't peel the way painted brick eventually does. Paint sits on top as a film, hides the texture and can trap moisture, a real drawback on the rainy South Coast.

Bathrooms

Water-damaged or mouldy bathroom drywall is patched or replaced, finished paint-ready and repainted to match. See bathroom painting refresh. We don't handle plumbing or tile work.

What kind of paint do you use in Delta, BC bathrooms?

We use moisture- and mould-resistant paints designed for high-humidity rooms, applied over proper prep. This prevents the peeling, blistering, and mildew that standard paint develops in bathrooms.
